BEIJING—Special livery enthusiasts, it’s your time to get excited! Air China has announced their plans to paint one of their planes in a retro scheme when the next D checks come due. With their 85 year anniversary coming up, Air China is celebrating its legacy rooted in the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) founded in 1939 by painting an Airbus A330 in the all-time popular colors their fleet wore in the 2010s, 2000s, 1990s, 1980s, 1970s, 1960s, 1950s and 1940s.
In an online survey posted last month, 100% of the 1,4 billion participants voted for this design out of one choice. So get your cameras ready, fellow spotters! The retro jet might be coming to your city soon!
In related news, TAAG Angola an Emirates have also announced to paint a retro livery in the near future.
